Dublin Airport is a fair distance from the city, so there’s rarely a pressing need to store your luggage there. In most cases, it’s easier (and cheaper) to take a taxi or bus into the city and store your bags at one of the numerous city center luggage storage facilities.
That said, if you absolutely need to store your luggage at the airport, it’s definitely possible. The easiest option is the airport’s baggage storage facilities, conveniently located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Baggage Storage Facility: Terminal 1
The baggage storage facility in Terminal 1 is situated in the Arrivals Hall near the Airport Information Desk. The official opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. However, luggage storage services are typically available 24/7.
For a better understanding of the layout, check out the Terminal 1 map on the airport’s website. Use the terminal option for updated details.
Baggage Storage Facility: Terminal 2
In Terminal 2, the baggage storage facility is located in the Baggage Hall on the ground floor. Like Terminal 1, it’s accessible during airport operating hours.
Let’s be honest—luggage storage at Dublin Airport isn’t cheap. Here’s the breakdown:
Suitcases (holdalls, rucksacks, bags, etc.):
Small items (laptops, small handbags, etc.):
Large items (surfboards, bicycles, etc.):
If you prioritize comfort, convenience, and flexibility, this service might be for you.
Here’s the deal:
While walk-in storage is available, it’s wise to book ahead, especially during peak travel times or if you’re storing large items.
If you’re staying in Dublin for more than 24 hours, I’d recommend skipping airport storage altogether. Even if you’re moving around (say, between Belfast and Dublin), city-based luggage storage will usually save you money.
The only exception? If you’re storing something extremely valuable. In that case, the airport’s secure lockers are worth the extra cost.
So, plan ahead, weigh your options, and choose the solution that best fits your travel itinerary!
