Every review I read highlighted how exceptional Sheedy’s Doolin was. So, I decided to experience it for myself, and as expected, it did not disappoint.

Location & Surroundings

Sheedy’s Doolin is located in the middle of doolin village and you will get easy access to local pubs, restaurants, and attractions, just 5-10 walking minutes away. you can easily explore the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, the unique landscape of The Burren, and the beautiful Aran Islands. The B&B is located just 4 kilometers from Doolin Cave and 48 kilometers from Shannon Airport.

Hospitality / My experience

When I arrived the B&B Frank and Marian ready with their hospitality. Its like they are waiting to welcome us. They helped us secure dinner and music reservations and shared great suggestions for things to do in and around town. They also have a playful Old English Sheepdog named Bertie, who added to the charm of the place.

Frank trained as a chef at Galway GMIT, and Marian trained as a hotel manager. For twelve years, they successfully operated Roadford House Restaurant and Accommodation, and their expertise was evident in every detail. It was their dream to building and operating their own business in the center of Doolin, and today, here they are . I was truly impressed by the passion and dedication they put into serving us.

Breakfast

One of the standout features of staying at Sheedy’s Doolin is their renowned gourmet breakfast. It’s truly exceptional. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented dishes. The morning sideboard resembles something straight out of a cooking magazine, featuring a lavish buffet spread that includes homemade granola shots, fresh fruit salad, a selection of cheeses, and freshly baked bread.

Additionally, you can select from a variety of perfectly cooked hot dishes, including a daily gourmet special. Breakfast is served in a spacious, well-lit dining room with views of The Aille River.

Who wouldn’t be happy to enjoy the river views and delicious food after a good night’s sleep? It’s the perfect start to your day.

Accommodation & Service

I assure you, the quality of sleep at Sheedy’s Doolin is exceptional. The rooms are well managed with everything, from the walls to the pillows perfectly maintained. You have a range of options, from super king deluxe to twin and family rooms, all designed with a calming and restful color scheme. Each room features Bamboo Pocket Sprung Mattresses, an en-suite shower, a Smart TV, a Nespresso Coffee Machine, and complimentary high-speed WiFi throughout the property.

You won’t believe how long Daly’s House has been in business! It all started back in 1984 when Susan and her husband Paul opened their charming B&B. Over the past three decades, it has grown from just three cozy bedrooms to six luxurious rooms, each offering stunning views. Along the way, they’ve earned several awards for their exceptional service. As part of their expansion, Susan’s daughter Kate has joined her in running the B&B. Together, they can’t wait to welcome you to Daly’s House!

Hospitality

The moment I stepped into the B&B, I was welcomed by their warm hospitality. It’s rare to find such an inviting place to stay, eat, and unwind. One of my favorite spots was their garden—ideal for relaxing, chatting, and taking in the stunning views, surrounded by vibrant flowers and the occasional visit from birds throughout the seasons. Susan and her family even spent time with us, sharing stories about Doolin and offering insider tips. Susan gave us a list of recommended tours of the Burren, and by the end, we truly felt like part of the family.

Susan’s cooking is truly exceptional. Start your day with a buffet featuring homemade granola shots, fresh fruit salad, an assortment of cheeses, and more. Then, sit back and relax as you take in the peaceful atmosphere and garden views while they prepare a delicious made-to-order dish, whether it’s a Full Irish Breakfast, French Toast, Omelettes, or something else from the menu. I especially enjoyed the blue cheese omelette.

What really sets O’Leary’s Lodge apart is its exceptional family-friendly atmosphere. It’s one of the best B&Bs I’ve found for families. Children are warmly welcomed, and the lodge features a playground where kids can have fun outdoors. The spacious family rooms are perfect for larger groups, and you can even request cots for younger children if needed.

All rooms are conveniently located on the ground floor, making it easy for everyone to get around. They are separate from the main house, ensuring a peaceful and quiet stay with beautiful countryside views. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and free WiFi throughout. Plus, every unit includes a patio with lovely garden views.

Breakfast

Breakfast at O’Leary’s Lodge is thoughtfully organized. You simply fill out a request form the night before, selecting your meal and preferred time. This was perfect for me, as I had a busy schedule. The breakfast itself was delicious, especially the granola. With a wide selection of homemade goodies, it’s great value for money.

Location & Surroundings

Cahermaclanchy House B&B is a delightful, family-run bed and breakfast situated about 2.5 kilometers from the heart of Doolin. Located along the iconic Wild Atlantic Way, it serves as a perfect base for exploring North Clare and the stunning Burren region. The B&B is just a quick 3-minute drive or a scenic 20-minute walk to Doolin.

Just outside town, we met Martin on his way to his son’s football game as we arrived. He showed us to our room, and it was enormous! The setting was beautiful—the rural landscape, nearby farm animals, and distant views of the sea made this stay truly unique. Our small apartment was well-equipped and spotlessly clean.

Cahermaclanchy House B&B offers a range of room options to suit various needs, including twin, double, triple, and family rooms. There is also a self-contained family apartment featuring its own dining area and en-suite bathroom.

Each room is designed for maximum comfort and includes tea and coffee-making facilities, a flat-screen TV, a hairdryer, and an en-suite bathroom. Ground-floor rooms are available for easy access, and free WiFi is provided throughout the property. All rooms are non-smoking and offer views of the picturesque surrounding landscape, the ocean, or the Cliffs of Moher.

Breakfast

The breakfast the next morning was delightful. You can savor a hearty Irish breakfast prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The menu usually features a range of options, including traditional Irish dishes, homemade breads, fresh fruit, and more.

Hospitality

The hosts were truly awesome. Their exceptional hospitality and meticulous attention to detail were impressive. They are very accommodating with special dietary requests, and guests frequently commend the warm welcome and personalized service they receive. Martin even provided excellent recommendations for local dining, including Russell’s, which was fantastic.

In short, I loved everything about this place. The decor is charming, the property is immaculately clean, and everything is of a high standard. I will definitely be returning

St. Catherine’s – The Perfect Place for Your Furry Friend

St. Catherine’s B&B is a charming and welcoming retreat situated just 3 kilometers from the traditional music village of Doolin and 2 kilometers from Doolin Cave. Nestled in the heart of the countryside yet close to the vibrant village of Doolin, it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the beauty of County Clare. Shannon Airport is conveniently located just 46 kilometers away, making it easily accessible for travelers.

The standout feature of St. Catherine’s B&B is its pet-friendly policy—something that’s quite rare. If you’re traveling with your furry friend, this is the place to choose. And that’s not all.

The rooms are well-appointed, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean, providing maximum comfort and convenience. Each room features a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer, comfortable beds with high-spec en-suite showers, free high-speed fiber broadband, a coffee machine, and a tea kettle. Despite the presence of other guests, I enjoyed a peaceful and quiet sleep.

Massage treatments are also available for an extra charge.

Hospitality

Maria’s attention to detail is evident throughout. She is both attentive and friendly, ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible without being intrusive. Known for her warm hospitality, Maria’s local knowledge and recommendations greatly enhanced our visit. When we asked for a pub suggestion, Maria recommended McDermott’s, which turned out to be perfect for us.

Breakfast

Maria’s cooking is superb! Breakfast includes generously portioned, fully cooked options along with a large variety of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and delicious brown bread. We pre-selected our breakfast the night before, and it was beautifully prepared and plated by the time we reached the dining area. The coffee was hot and flavorful, the toast was excellent, and there were plenty of snacks available for our hike. Maria even treated our guest dog to a couple of sausages.
